Warnings, Cautions and Contraindications

Use cautiously alongside sedative medications, due to additional sedative effects.

Contraindicated to be taken with dopaminergic drugs, including L-Dopa (due to Kava’s dopamine antagonistic effects). Reduced drug efficacy likely. Use with caution alongside potentially hepatotoxic medications due to possible increased risk of hepatotoxicity.

Cautions - Not for prolonged use. In rare cases, Kava has been linked to liver damage. Due to dopamine antagonism, use Kava cautiously in the elderly and Parkinson’s disease.

Contraindications - Pre-existing liver damage or liver disease, pregnancy, lactation and children under 12 years.
